Fundamentals
Start HereLearn a clear jungle path first β start Blue/Red, clear camps, look for gank paths
Gank lanes that have enemy champions overextended past the river
Prioritise dragon over baron in the early game β dragon stacks win fights
Ping your teammates before ganking so they can move into position
Player Problems
Coaching AuditThe most common mistakes Jungle players make below Diamond β and exactly how to fix them.
Symptom: "You've ganked mid 4 times. They're 0/8. You're now 2/6."
Diagnosis
Emotional ganking β trying to fix a losing lane with force instead of reading the game state.
The Fix
A losing lane is already losing resources. Shift focus to winning lanes or neutral objectives. One winning lane plus objectives beats three losing lanes with camp pressure. Write off the lane mentally and play around your lead.
Symptom: "You're farming raptors when the enemy team takes free baron."
Diagnosis
No timer discipline β objectives aren't marked, you're not tracking the 5-minute respawn cycle.
The Fix
After every dragon or baron, immediately set the timer in chat (type d3:50 for 5-minute dragon). Be near the objective 30 seconds before it spawns. Losing baron isn't a CS mistake β it's a positioning mistake.
Symptom: "You invade their blue at level 3 and die to a 3-man counter-invade."
Diagnosis
Invading without information β no wards showing the enemy jungler's position or route.
The Fix
Never invade without knowing where the enemy jungler started. If they started bot side, their top-side jungle is vulnerable at 2:30. If you don't know β don't go. A safe clear beats a 50-50 invade.
Symptom: "You attempt a gank, it fails, you wander aimlessly for 40 seconds."
Diagnosis
No fallback plan β when a gank doesn't work, there's no route back to camps.
The Fix
Every gank attempt should have a clear fallback route to camps. Gank bot β fallback red side. Gank top β fallback blue side. Program this routing before you enter a gank. A failed gank with a good fallback loses you 0 gold.

FAQ
Gank when an enemy is overextended past the river, when a lane has CC available to lock them down, or when your champion has a kill spike (level 6 ult for many junglers).
Buy a control ward every back. Place it at dragon/baron pit or in the enemy jungle. Use your trinket on cooldown to clear and ward objectives.
