Fundamentals
Start HereAlways stand behind your support in lane β never walk past the river
Last-hit every minion: 6 CS = 1 kill worth of gold, consistent farming is crucial
Position at the back of teamfights and hit the closest enemy safely
Never overcommit β if your support dies, back off immediately
Player Problems
Coaching AuditThe most common mistakes ADC players make below Diamond β and exactly how to fix them.
Symptom: "The enemy jungler appears from the pixel bush. You had no idea."
Diagnosis
No awareness of your lane range β extended past safety line without vision of river entrances.
The Fix
Draw a mental line at the river. Without vision of both river entrances, never cross it. Buy a control ward every back and place it in the bush facing the river. One ward placement per base eliminates 80% of early game deaths.
Symptom: "Your team engages. You follow. You're the first one dead."
Diagnosis
Positioning inside the teamfight instead of behind it β standing at melee range or in the middle of AoE.
The Fix
Your job in every teamfight is maximum damage from maximum range. Position at your auto-attack maximum distance and hit the closest safe target. Never chase. If the engagement means you must go forward β don't go forward. Kite back, auto, kite back.
Symptom: "You're 5/2 but you have 120 CS at 22 minutes. Your lead means nothing."
Diagnosis
CS is being traded for fights, kills, and objectives without making up the missed farm.
The Fix
Practice last-hitting in Practice Tool daily for 10 minutes β only last-hit, no abilities, no movement. Target: 7+ CS/min. Then track it in live games. After every fight, return to lane immediately. You should have 10 CS per minute by item 2.
Symptom: "You have 7 CS/min but 20% kill participation. Your support can't do anything."
Diagnosis
Passive farming mode β never auto-attacking the enemy champion, letting your support create alone.
The Fix
Learn your all-in windows: most bot lanes have a kill window at level 2 (if your support has hard CC) and level 6. When your support engages, immediately follow with auto-attacks before considering backing off. Your damage amplifies their CC.

FAQ
Practice kiting: move between auto attacks using QWER to dodge skill shots while maintaining auto-attack range. Play the skirmish from the outside and never chase a dying enemy into their team.
Most ADCs follow a crit path: Kraken Slayer (anti-tank) or Galeforce (mobility) as first items, then Infinity Edge for crit damage. Adapt based on whether the enemy team is tanky or mobile.
